When hiking with your dog, bring along a set of dog booties. They will protect your dog's pads while hiking over rough terrain, or could be used as a stopgap measure for a cut pad. They are also good as burn protection for those times when you must walk on hot pavement with your dog.

Tour de LabAn 18-mile bike ride, great microbrews, and plenty of pooches....that's the Tour de Lab, happening this Sunday (9/7). This benefit ride for DoveLewis travels 18 miles between the 3 Lucky Lab Microbrewery locations, starting and ending at the Southeast location. Adopt a Labrador or a Labrador mix dog from OHS this labor day weekend and receive a 50% adoption discount. On a typical day, OHS has nearly 80 adorable and adoptable dogs you can visit with, including nearly 25 Labradors and Lab mixes. Pacific Park Dog Park Grand Opening[July 28, 2008] The Dakota Memorial Off-Leash Area, an 8-acre dog park within Pacific Park in Vancouver, is having a grand opening this Saturday, Aug 2. The park is named in honor of Dakota, the Vancouver K-9 Police Dog killed in the line of duty last year. There will be vendors, games, events, raffles and demonstrations.
